THRESHOLD INTENSIVE

There is a particular kind of emergent inner material that needs a depth of tending
that the therapeutic hour does not allow for.
Some material doesn't need more time between sessions. It needs less.

A full day's work has a different texture than six fifty-minute hours spread across six weeks.

There is a particular kind of emergent inner material that needs a depth of tending that the therapeutic hour does not allow for.

Perhaps a life that has already begun changing shape, where you know something is shifting and you even have language for it, but the container you’re in (fifty minutes, once a week, perpetually catching up to where you already are) isn't matched to the size of what's moving.

Peter Levine talks about ‘titration’ —
the slow, careful pacing of nervous system work so the system isn't overwhelmed.
That principle holds. But titration describes the rate of work, not the frequency.
There's a difference between needing to go slowly and needing to go weekly. Some material doesn't need more time between sessions. It needs less.

Jung wrote about the ‘liminal’ — the threshold state where the old form has loosened its grip but the new one hasn't yet solidified.

Liminal time is notoriously hard to sustain in ordinary life.
It wants a vessel. A bounded, protected span of time where the psyche is given permission to do what it's already trying to do, without the interruption of seven days of ordinary demands between each layer.

  1. THRESHOLD INTENSIVE

A 3 day depth immersion for people navigating real transition — for those who are stable and resourced, but find weekly sessions too slow for what's moving.

IS THIS YOU?

THE WORK OF THIS INTENSIVE DRAWS ON

Somatic Experiencing — tracking the nervous system's own intelligence, working with what the body already knows about safety and threat — alongside a depth-psychological frame: what wants to individuate here, what's asking to be metabolized rather than managed.

These aren't trauma-processing marathons.

They're concentrated time for material that's already conscious, already active, already asking for room to move. A full day's work has a different texture than six fifty-minute hours spread across six weeks — less re-entry, less catching the system back up to where it left off, more continuity to actually finish a thought the body is having.

WHO IS THIS FOR?

  • You're not in crisis — you're in transition. Career pivot, relational rupture, identity shift, a passage you can feel but haven't fully named.

  • You have some history with therapy or self-reflective work already; you're not starting from zero.

  • You want concentrated time rather than the slow accumulation of weekly sessions.

  • You have spaciousness over the summer to explore what may have accumulated over the span of the year.

  • You're able to be without your usual external supports for the days of the intensive, and you have continuity of care lined up afterward (your own therapist, or a referral I provide). or belief or if that modality really clicks for the individual.

In the summer, I open a small number of multi-day intensives for people in exactly this place: stable, resourced, not in crisis, but standing at a threshold that weekly sessions don’t fully meet.

Career pivots.

Relational ruptures that have changed how you see yourself.

Burgeoning creative desire.

The slow-burn identity shifts that don't have a single triggering event but have nonetheless rearranged the furniture of a life.

Investment:
$3,300 ($900 non-refundable deposit at booking; remaining balance due before the start of the first session. Payment plans available to everyone — email me to chat)

Limited availability:

A small number of intensives are available this upcoming summer.

PLEASE NOTE:
This is not crisis intervention, ongoing weekly therapy, or psychiatric care. It's a concentrated container for people who already have — or will have, by the end of our work together — a plan for ongoing support.

What it includes:

  • A pre-intensive intake call to clarify focus and confirm fit

  • 3 days of sessions (2.5 hours of direct contact per day), in-person or virtual depending on your situation

  • Somatic Experiencing-based nervous system work, integrated with depth-psychological exploration of what's asking to shift

  • A dedicated integration session on the final day, with concrete next steps and a continuation-of-care plan

  • A written summary of themes and resourcing practices to carry forward
